HELP World Mental Health Day (2012)

"Why do you want to spend so much time on something that doesn't pay?" asked a friend of mine.

Let me tell you something. This project is an amazing learning experience for me.
Despite the large amount of effort, but in every single thing i do, there's something out there for me to catch and hold on to.
I guess you can call this passion? haha ! But let's be humble.
I would say it's a love to help and learn. (:

For example, I've learnt to never be late for meetings.
    Why? Late comers, well....
they have to dance to Gangnam style.

It has been months since I started on this journey.
And so far, every single moment in this project is A BLAST !
The road shows, bazaars, meetings, and concert has given me nothing but satisfaction and joy.
Yes indeed that I did not manage to enjoy my 1 month sem break but that 1 month has also been one of my best months in years !

    Okay, enough of my crapping.
Let's do some catching up on this project ! Heheh.

    SMK Kelana Jaya Roadshow

This is the first roadshow for us.
Me being me, I was nervous !
Nervous of all possible things that could go wrong, nervous of the crowd, just nervous.
At the end of it, it wasn't as good as expected but enough to empower people ! (i hope)
    :D

A group picture of the crew that day ! :D

The crowd ! I know it's small but our main objective is for the roadshow to be interactive. :D
Don't look down on that crowd okay !

One of the interactive games was to draw faces on paper bags (our icon)

Something similar but we gave them the freedom to be creative !

And this is what they came up with. hahaha !
This guy's paperbag is the winner for that day.
    Amazingly badass lor !

    After that?
No, we did not go home. The gang went out to have lunch (the best char siew in kelana jaya?) and had a blast talking and laughing. (:
    I just love them.

SMK Bandar Sri Damansara 2 (Roadshow)

This time around, we were more prepared.
With better strategy and improved teamwork ! :D
The results? AMAZING. The crowd and us had lots of fun !
And not to forget about the fact that Chee meng and Amelia managed to get a fan club.

    The picture says it all.

Our awesome MC, Aaron, starts of the roadshow by introducing the project in a witty manner. ;D

This is the crowd ! Form 3,4,5. It's amazing how well they pay attention.

And while the crowd is being mesmerized by the speaker of the day, we were having a briefing.
LOLOL. I know, during the thing. D:
    Let's go a little closer.

This, ladies and gents, is our roadshow team leader. AHAH.
    Giving us the "talk"
Okay, not so creepy but he's basically telling us to start our work on the interactive games !
    Remember paperbags?

This is what one group of girls came up with !
    Talented much. (jealous)

And these are the girls !
They look so happy. hah !

Last but not least ! The senior of SMK BSD (2) who landed us this roadshow. Hoho
Who would have known that his speech would be hilarious?
Just so you know, it is. haha !

    Oh oh !
    Almost forgot.
hehe, I want to say thanks to the teachers of SMK BSD (2) for belanja-ing us breakfast (nasi lemak).
    It was finger-licking good. (:

    Sri Garden (Roadshow)

This time round, we got tired of travelling in convoys, Clarence decided to take his Starex.
We squished into the car. heheh
    Literally. D:

This is most of us. 2 more guys (Clarence and On) are missing !
    ): I can't find a complete picture of us.
The car was so full that Aaron had to sit at the boot. HAHA
Well at least he has DON (our donation box) to keep him company.

     The crowd.

My personal favourite paper bag ! :D

And oh ! We did sticky notes.
To allow students to express themselves. (:

    After that....
    LUNCH !
     The team in Caffeinees.
Yes, we had our lunch there.
P/s: the place is amazing. Food is good and env is ze best ! check it out. :D
And thanks to Clarence for the pizzas.
(I'm still in love with that place)

WMHD Mini Charity Concert (19th Sept 2012)

This is definitely one of the HIGHLIGHTS of the event. (more to come !)

The tickets were sold out a day before the event !
And I bet you see Reuben Kang's name.
He's the emcee of the event !
We were so lucky to have him to do this for us.
His mere presence has helped us so much !
There were more amazing performers which I didn't have to chance to take a picture with !
Some of them were The Crinkle Cut,and Wanted Symphony (my fav)
As for my picture with Reuben,

TAAAADAAA ! (excuse my dopey face)
    *fan girl screams*
This is the team for the concert which includes the Board of Directors ! :D
I'm missing because I was on the phone (behind the crowd)
    :'(

Overall, the concert was a success and we had a blast doing it !
The responses were amazing, the jokes were hilarious (laughed till i died), and the cheers were motivating.
    To those who missed it,
    NO WORRIES !
    There's more coming !
Possibly better than the concert. ;)

There's the main event coming in october !
12th - 13th of October at Piazza, The Curve !
Come on over and learn something new !
Open your heart and mind to something worthwhile. (:

    Not convinced yet?
Well, here's a video of Daphne Iking (Malaysian Star) talking about depression in support of WMHD !

    occhiolism

    n. the awareness of the smallness of your perspective, by which you couldn’t possibly draw any meaningful conclusions at all, about the world or the past or the complexities of culture, because although your life is an epic and unrepeatable anecdote, it still only has a sample size of one, and may end up being the control for a much wilder experiment happening in the next room.

Words by http://www.dictionaryofobscuresorrows.com/ because come on, it's BEAUTIFUL.

    The person behind this blog

    The person behind this blog

She is a 21 year-old awkwardly enthusiastic individual who loves the idea of photography and is constantly looking for opportunities to travel around the world.

She loves lounging the around the house watching TV shows and movies in her pajamas while sipping tea (English breakfast is the way to go).

If you wish to make her happy, buy her candy, but do not lure her into dark alleys with those. Also, she finds it stupid to refer to herself as a third person.
