Warning: This is a very wordy post.
On the 5th of May 2013, the nation came together to vote for the best party to rule our nation.
As a chinese, I mean no discrimination or racism when expressing my opinions.
I hope for a fair and united nation with the best future for everyone in mind.
Yesterday, we have witnessed a series of events that caused chaos throughout the entire nation.
We have seen reports of how the current government has tried to cheat to win the elections over the past two weeks.
Methods such as blackouts, phantom voters, offering money, incoming ballot boxes during counting and even putting up accusative advertisements.
These methods used were probably legal (I have no idea how to see this) but it leaves the rakyat (translated to citizen) feeling dissatisfied and mistreated.
When the Barisan National won, the prime minister called the phenomenon "chinese tsunami"?
This is racism in the face. I believe this "chinese tsunami" does not only comprise of chinese people but also people of many other races, people who believe in Change. I believe that they do not have unity in mind throughout the entire electoral campaign and probably will never have.
As a Malaysian, I am not proud of how the Barisan National has caused such havoc just to win the elections.
Is it worth it? Is it worth it to cause so much havoc to the extent that people do not even dare to leave their houses on days around the voting day?
I am not proud.
The difference between the votes for BN and DAP is reducing. The main reason for it is that more and more young adults like my friends and I are coming into our senses. We are now reading more and more about politics. We are not conscious of things that are happening around us. So if you want to win us, be true to us. Be true to the country and your duties. Put away all the greed and evil intentions that you have because to us, our main aim is to have a fair, clean, and developed country.
I do not have much to say about the result of this election nor am I proud of what they did but what I wish to say here is that I hope my fellow Malaysian would keep fighting for a better Malaysia, a united country with no biases towards certain races.
I love Malaysia but I do not want my future to be filled with filth.
Let's keep on fighting for Change, do not give up because good things will come to those who persevere.
