Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra - Ravel, Mathieu, Copland

I remember I made two very clear resolutions for 2013, one was to get to US successfully and another was to attend a philharmonic orchestra.
I'm sad to say that US would not work out for me due to some conditions that the embassy set for Work and Travel.
I was heartbroken for quite a while and still am but nonetheless, i managed to fulfil my second resolution yesterday.

I attended a philharmonic orchestra in the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra hall.
I was supposed to enjoy a performance called the "Rare Rachmaninoff" featuring a rarely played original piece of Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 4 but they changed the schedule to Maurice Ravel's Piano Concerto in G major and Andre Matheiu's Concerto de Quebec.

Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto No. 4 (an introduction into this piece)

Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto No. 4 (full, i think).

Well, instead of enjoying these, I ended up enjoying a different piece. Still amazing but I would have loved to get to listen to Rachmaninoff's piece.

This is Mathieu Concerto de Quebec. He was a child prodigy and I can't believe he wrote this when he was 9 years old. I mean come on wtf, such talents. D:

And this is Ravel Piano Concerto in G Major (part of it). Probably some of you have heard this piece from Nodame Cantabile (a japanese anime).

    Anyhow, Love them all.
I have a wonderful experience, it may be boring to many of you but it is nice to be reminded that all music that we hear today originated from classical music first.
The sounds/music that we hear on disney or looney tunes, the music in movies like Avatar or Titanic and more are from classical music.

Last but not least, since it requires me to dress semi-formal, I took the opportunity to dress up a little.
So here's the outfit of the night.

    Asos-inspired dress and Tassel earrings.

    n. the awareness of the smallness of your perspective, by which you couldn’t possibly draw any meaningful conclusions at all, about the world or the past or the complexities of culture, because although your life is an epic and unrepeatable anecdote, it still only has a sample size of one, and may end up being the control for a much wilder experiment happening in the next room.

    The person behind this blog

She is a 21 year-old awkwardly enthusiastic individual who loves the idea of photography and is constantly looking for opportunities to travel around the world.

She loves lounging the around the house watching TV shows and movies in her pajamas while sipping tea (English breakfast is the way to go).

If you wish to make her happy, buy her candy, but do not lure her into dark alleys with those. Also, she finds it stupid to refer to herself as a third person.
